Todd A. Williams was born in the small farming community of Central City, Nebraska.
He studied painting and illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree he worked as an illustrator and senior designer for the next ten years.

Today Todd excels in his ability to paint all subject matter using spontaneous brushwork and creative virtuosity. Most of the time he can be found painting en plein air.
Through this discipline he has found his own recognizable voice, which is now becoming his signature style.

"He's reminiscent of (19th-century portrait painter) John Singer Sargent and can do fantastic landscapes at the same time," says Dirk Meyer, owner of Meyer Gallery in Santa Fe, N. M. and one of Williams' first representatives. "People like the style, the feel, the looseness that he portrays. Todd is definitely an up and coming star."

Todd's work has been exhibited across the US in gallery, museum, and invitational exhibitions, such as the Gilcrease Museum, the Great Plains Art Museum, Cincinnati's Great American Artists Exhibition, and the Oil Painters of America National and Regional Exhibitions.

Todd Williams' success really doesn't come as a surprise," says Dirk Meyer, owner of Meyer Gallery in Santa Fe, N. M. and one of Williams' first representatives. "He has the ability and skill to take the viewer to a peaceful place within themselves.
He uses a subdued palette blended into poetic, serene scenes.
He doesn't resort to 'tricks' to create his work. It is true tonal work from the heart."

Although Todd is not an abstractionist, he still uses an abstractionist metaphor which is 'to take from.' In his case he has chosen to take his forms from nature and his expression from his heart. He has a unique ability to go beyond surface effects of atmosphere and light--to turn inward, to capture the soul and sentiment of the subject. "Natural beauty found within one's heart can correspond to the natural beauty of light on still life, landscape and figure," he says. His painting has continued to be a moment in his life he wishes to share with everyone else. Out of the abundance of his heart he invites us to participate along with him in the same experience.

In 2004, Williams received national and international exposure for his art through a feature article in Southwest Art and International Artist Magazine selected him for "Master Painters of the World" in the United States Showcase. Also in Sept. 2005, he was featured in the Fine Art Connoisseur (formerly known as the Plein Air Magazine).
